Everyday seems the same.. muffled lines I speak.. blurred edges I see
The years relentlessly peel back the scab that never heals
Day after day, years of medications for an illness I still feel

Laughter heard through thick glass
Warmth felt through layered ice
Some say.. time ease's all your pain
I say.. nothing has ever been ok.

Like something bathed in sunshine
Pictures of you rearranged in my mind
The words whispered between us.. divine

Breaking inside tryin to unlock secrets buried within
Only second hand knowledge have I heard
Only recounts of past days do I have
My true love, scene's of you will never dim

Today above all days, I look through space and wonder where you are
Today among all days, I celebrate the very existence of your life
Today through all the pain, I smile, I cry, I wish only the very best
Because today, this beautiful day, is your day.. my special day.

Your memory sustains me, thinking of you makes me live
