April 15th (part5)
(2007)

Sunlight hanging on particles floating through the air
Sunscapes rise and fall, all the while pale shades move
This day plays out its faded shadows in transparent rooms
I watch silhouettes dancing across the span of a lifetime
Hollow laughter ringing through every moment suspended in time

Wherever you are, you carry with you something so sacred
So in love with your picture, so old in my aging hands
Scrapbooks with pictures and sketches my very tapestry
Shivering just to hear your name whispered upon strangers lips

Such mental hardship, pain with such shame
Taking that next step an anxious measure insane
A chill inside haunting me, begging never to leave
Taking that next breath so very hard to breathe

That day a miracle happened, a day that changed my life
I fought so long and so very hard not to crumble to my knees
The day you opened your eyes, and looked straight up at me

Yesterday seems so far away, yet forever a soothing lullaby
On this one very day, it’s the single day I refuse to say goodbye

My soul soars forever through limbo in search of your salvation
The years have been unkind to my mind holding all my humiliation
Feel the cold surreal kiss on my cheek, deep within my sleep
Your presence replaced by broken and withered words I speak
A feeling so intense, an overwhelming sensation I cannot shake
Within moments in a cold-beaded sweat… I shudder awake
